My Favourite Cities So Far: Jersey City

When people ask me what my favorite city is, they usually expect something obvious like New York, Tokyo, or London. But honestly, one of my absolute favorites is a bit of a hidden gem—Jersey City, New Jersey.
Just across the Hudson from Manhattan, Jersey City is incredibly close to NYC, but the vibe is totally different. While New York buzzes nonstop, Jersey City is chill and laid-back, perfect for when you just want to relax and breathe.
Summers here are amazing—you've got fireflies glowing at night, ducks and geese casually hanging out near the river, and all kinds of birds adding their soundtrack to the day. Each season brings its own charm: spring blooms everywhere, autumn turns the streets golden, and winter sometimes dusts the city beautifully in snow.
One of my favorite spots is the Starbucks at Exchange Place. I usually grab a coffee and sit right by the Hudson River, looking straight across at the stunning Manhattan skyline. There's nothing better than chilling out here with a gentle breeze blowing—honestly, it’s one of the best feelings ever.
And it's not just about the chill atmosphere—Jersey City is also super convenient. The PATH train can get you into Manhattan in about 20 minutes, which is perfect for hanging out or commuting. Plus, the city's light rail makes getting around effortless, whether you're heading to Newport, Hoboken, or exploring other cool neighborhoods.
So yeah, Jersey City hits that sweet spot of convenience and comfort. It's city living without the chaos—exactly why it’s one of my favorite places so far.
